Dammit, Veer pisses me off*.
Or, I should say… their marketing ideas (and budget) piss me off*.
We got a puzzle in the mail today :
A professionally produced puzzle box, with clues to a promo offer that is revealed when the puzzle is complete.
I mean, their ideas are usually perfect, and are almost always kept around Burst HQ for a few weeks (if not longer) just to help with inspiration for our own promotional ideas. But this box elicited an impressive “wow” from the generally hard-to-impress Matt as he brought it straight into my office when the mail showed up today.
Here we are talking about a company known for great promotional ideas and swag, and they still manage to surprise. That’s quite an accomplishment these days, wouldn’t you say?
So we’re headed off to a brainstorming session to figure out how in the world we can get the same kind of response for our music licensing business. Any ideas?
* by “piss(es) me off”, I absolutely mean the highest form of respect and praise. It’s called irony… difficult to pull off in email or on the web, since the medium is devoid of facial expression and vocal nuance… hence this explanation.

Out of curiosity did you complete the puzzle? We randomly worked on it for a few days around the office. When it’s all said and done, I have three empty spaces and three puzzle pieces left; non of them match. I’ve been trying to decide whether or not this is intentional, as the puzzle is titled “The Missing Piece”

Truth be told, we’ve been pretty swamped in the studio for the past couple of weeks… that is a head-scratcher, though. I wonder if there’s a follow up to the puzzle at their site??
